Have Your Five A Day With Tasty Smoothies

Some toddlers are great when it comes to eating healthy snacks and will choose an apple over some chocolate. Unfortunately, others are not so good. If you are having an uphill battle trying to get your toddler to have their five a day, why not try a healthy smoothie?

Smoothies are a great healthy snack for your toddler

It doesn’t have to be summer time for you to pull out the blender, healthy fruit smoothies are great any time of the year and make a great addition to breakfast or as a snack.

The best thing about smoothies are that they are really easy easy to put together. Use what ever fruit you have lying around, mix with some fruit juice and milk, throw in a few ice cubes and you have a yummy, healthy smoothie for your toddler.

Get your toddler trying new fruits in their smoothies

The great thing about smoothies is that you can be creative and inventive and find out what your favourite flavours and combinations are. It is easy to put a few different fruits in front of your toddler and do a taste test to see which flavours are your favourite and which smoothie flavours just do not go well together (your toddler is also willingly trying new fruits at the same time).

The biggest trick to a great smoothie is getting a good blender. You don’t have to go out and spend hundreds of pounds on a blender, but if your toddler enjoys their smoothies, you will find you are using it a lot and paying a few extra pounds might really pay off.

So if your toddler is like me, and has a sweet tooth, here are some great, simple recipes for getting your toddler to willingly have their five a day. Have a look here for other great ways to get your toddler eating healthy fruit and vegetables.
